In my kinesiology sessions I work with Archetypes to help clients access their highest potential within the context of a challenge or lesson. An Archetype represents the ideal, a light on your path that gives energy, focus and direction. In this particular session, my client needed to access the energy of her Queen.
“What qualities for you represent the essence of the Queen?” I asked. My client replied: “In my understanding a Queen is Loving, Kind and Courageous”
With the muscle testing we were able to access that she believed that she was loving and kind, but that she did not see herself as courageous. Without this belief in her own courage, she was unable to access the emotional strength that she needed to weather the storm.
My task as a kinesiologist was to remind my client that she is indeed courageous.
Brene Brown in her TED talk, the Power of Vulnerability talks about Courage. “The original definition of courage, when it first came into the English language –it’s from the Latin word cor, meaning heart –and the original definition was to tell the story of who you are with your whole heart.” Through her research she discovered that people who had a sense of their own worth, had the courage to be imperfect.
It takes Courage to value ourselves, to be true to ourselves, to in spite of fear of judgement of our imperfections and choices. It doesn’t take courage to put ourselves down as so many of us do.
As I reminded my client of her own courage, I reminded myself too. This is one of the many reasons why I love my work, my clients constantly teach and transform me. Her story inspired me to write my very first blog!
